Theresa Bautista
Theresa Bautista trained in Southern Indiana and Louisville, gaining experience both in dance and musical theatre. While earning her biology degree from Indiana University, she continued her dance studies in a program headed by Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux and Patricia McBride. Theresa is a freelance dancer, choreographer and teacher in the Louisville, KY area and has danced with Bloomington’s IN MOTION, the Kentucky Youth Dance Ensemble, Anna Sapozhnikov’s MOYAMO DANCE, Gordon Dance Projects, Cincinnati’s Contemporary Dance Theater’s Choreographers Without Companies, and as a company soloist for six years with Art! Art! Barking Dog Dance Company. In 2006, Theresa created and continues to produce MOVING COLLECTIVE, a venue to promote the works of independent choreographers and bring greater awareness of contemporary dance to the Louisville region. She was the Associate Director of Courtney Weber school of Dance for six years and continues to serve as faculty for several dance school in Southern Indiana and Louisville, KY area including the Kentucky Governor’s School for the Arts. She is invited to guest teach at several schools around the United States as well as choreograph for dance companies, musical theatres, private studios, and dance teams. Theresa presented her work, Moment Pushed, Moment Left at the 2005 SERBA Dance Festival and has been featured in Today’s Woman and the Louisville Eccentric Observer magazines.
Tamara Begely
Tamara Begley is a graduate of the Youth Performing Arts School and has earned a BFA in Choreography and Performance from the University of North Carolina Greensboro. She recently completed an internship in Washington, D.C. at Dance Place, one of the nation’s most prolific presenters of dance. Tamara has performed with John Gamble Dance Theatre in North Carolina, Amir Kolben and Jessica Marchant in Washington, D.C., and Art! Art! Barking Dog Dance Company in Louisville. In addition to Co-producing Moving Collective, she also teaches modern dance in several locations in the Louisville area, including the Louisville Ballet School, Studio SILK and Allegro Dance Theater in Radcliffe.
